Jan 1st There were three marriages,
Mr Alijah Hammuett? And Mrs A? Allen at 3 oclock PM
William C Allen and Ladie Hammett at the New Years

Josie Davis at 4 o’clock.

The third by Rev. R A Wilton
    Capt C had a fall on ( Capt C- Captain William Cottle 1821-1893, Julia's Husband)
Account of ice in the yard
And hurt his back.
Letter from Edgar. (Edgar Willis Cottle 1863-1944, their youngest son)
Letter from Lucy and (Lucy Mayhew Look Dunham, her sister)

To Capt C made by Julia (Lucy's daughter, Julia's niece)
Isaac left this morning (Isaac Fowler Parmenter, Adelaide's husband, Julia's son-in-law)
For Berlin Mass, having
Been here twenty weeks.
Received Lucy's picture.
Got a new subscription to the gazette for a year

Feb 2 Letter from Henry (Henry Eckford Cottle, Julia's middle son)
6 Letter from Will
7 Mr. John Hallnmetts? funeral aged 90? 10? 5-24
12 Letter from Ellen Weeks. (Daughter of Lizzie, Capt. Cottle's sister)
    There was a white frost
15 pleasant and cold went
To church and sunday school.
16 Stormy day
17 Mr. Presbury Luce died of
Pneumonia. Was sick but
A few days. He was 55 yrs 14 days.
18 Donatoon at Dea. Downs.
65 more present. Had
A very pleasant time
They had $18.60 given
In money besides groceries?
Most a piece of cotton cloth
A new calico dress for
Mrs. Downs we amounting
In all to about $35.
20 A snow storm most all day
21 Rainy and warm. Snow all gone.
22 Br Hatch preached over to the
Baptist church. Came here
And took supper.
23 Etta took dinner here.
Mrs Swift and Miss chapman called.
We looked for
Edgar but he did not come.

Feb 27 Edgar came home for a short visit.
28 In the evening there was a
Heavy thunder storm. Struck in several places
Burned Chars Theodore
Luce's barn struck a
Flag-staff at Edgartown, damaged the
Ocklahoma house to

On the cape and some other places.
March 1st Edgar took me to Chil-mark
And went with me to the communion.
